The “Right Now” God

Image10

When we accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we become new creatures in Him. In Him we have no past, old things are passed away, all things are become new. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). God becomes the “Now” God of our lives, the I AM, not the I was God, or I will be God, He Is the I AM.

God is an eternal God, you and I were created in His image to have dominion over this earth. What that means is we are to rule over earth as God rules over Heaven. Eternity has no time or time limits only the “Now” consciousness. When God created earth, He gave us night and day, time if you will. However, He did not create man to be time conscious. Everyday of our lives is a gift from God, a new creation just for us to do with as we please (that’s where choice comes in). We know that His desire is for us to make Him the foundation and focal point of every day, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). As we learn to make Him our foundation and focal point, He can bless us and we can fulfill the original commission, which is to walk in dominion over this earth through Jesus Christ by the Power of The Holy Spirit.

Adam and Eve

When satan tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden and said to her, "For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3:5 bolding mine). One of the things that happened to Adam and Eve when they partook of the forbidden fruit was, they became aware of time. “In the day …” aware of more than just the “NOW.” “You will be like…” until this time they were never tempted with the becoming of someone impressive or extraordinary, or the concern of their future, because they were created to live and walk in God’s image in the “NOW.” They were complete in God and their fellowship with Him. This changed when their wills were put ahead of God’s Will.

Learning To Trust Takes Time

When we receive Jesus Christ, our lives change therefore our plans, visions, hopes, and dreams, all change. He gives us new plans, new visions, new hopes, and new dreams. However, we have to learn to trust Him. Is He a safe place for us? Is He aware of our frame? Does He really know our needs? Will He let us down? The Scriptures tell us of His Faithfulness, but it is only through time and a personal relationship with Him that we learn that He is Faithful and that He really is our “RIGHT NOW” God.

We learn to trust Him by taking our eyes off our past, the hurts, the pain, the fear, the rejections, and yes, even some of the good things too; sometimes they make us pine and long for what could have been. When we give Him all the baggage that we brought in the relationship, we learn that Jesus is a safe place and He is Faithful to heal and remove the pain that we have lived in and with for so long. We still have the memories, but the pain is no longer there. We also learn what it is to walk in forgiveness towards others and allow God to renew and restore our lives. Hope comes, Peace comes, and His Joy becomes a way of life. While all this is happening, we learn to trust Him because His Love and Faithfulness is always here “RIGHT NOW” right when we need Him most. We look back and say, “Lord, You were there when I needed You.” As a result, we learn to be to be confident and trust Him knowing that He is the “Right Now” God and He will be here when we need Him.

The Cares Of This World

The cares and the pressures of this world seem to be growing everyday. We feel these pressures and cares because we are in this world. "And the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful" (Mark 4:19).  How do we combat these pressures? Where do we go in God’s Word to find Peace from these cares? Since God is a God of Order what is the first thing our “RIGHT NOW” God says to do?

Seeking The Kingdom Of God

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble" (Matthew 6:33 & 34). We have read this verse repeatedly, but how do we apply it to our lives? As many of you know, I love to take the Word and turn it into a prayer not only for my life, but also for those whom I love and stand in the gap for. Having stated this please be mindful that the following is not a formula and is not meant to be all-inclusive by any means. Our God is the God of the individual. I encourage you to ask The Holy Spirit where He would have you to go in the Word and to show you the Scripture(s) that He would have you pray His desire for your situation.

How Do I Seek The Kingdom Of God?

First, we recognize Jesus as King. Jesus, as King, You are the Governing Authority over Your property, and I am Your property. “For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:20). I belong wholly to You. Please help me to allow You to shape me with Your Personal Will, Your Purpose, and Your Plan for my life. I desire for You to create in me Your Way of life, Your Principles, Your Morals, and Your Standard of living, that will reflect Your Desires and Your Character through me as a Citizen of the Kingdom of God.

Sample Prayers For Seeking His Righteousness

Lord, I ask You for Your Grace, Your Strength, and Your Ability to be able to position myself with Your Authority in my life. To be in right reputation with Your Authority, in right relationship with Your Authority, and in truthful standing with the Principles of, and to fulfill the provisions of Your Authority.

Please help me Lord to understand how Your Righteousness in my life describes the upholding of my rightly aligned relationship with You as my Authority, my King, so I can walk in Your Governmental Privileges.

God’s Will Does Not Change

Many things affect our lives, but God will NEVER allow our will to override His Will. God’s Will does not change in our lives; He does not have a Plan A, Plan B, or Plan C. He only has a Perfect Plan. It was His desire to take the children of Israel from Egypt to the Promised Land and fulfill His every promise to them. He wanted to keep the Covenant He had made with their forefathers. But, because of their disobedience, their rebellion, their refusal to do it His Way—the promise was delayed, not cancelled, but delayed until future generations with the exceptions of, Joshua and Caleb.

Some of you have gone through things or perhaps are currently going through something that you knew it was God’s Will for you to do. However, because of rebellion and/or disobedience, on the part of someone else, God’s Will could not or cannot be accomplished as He has spoken. This does not mean His Will was or has changed, but that His Will has not been done. Man’s will has been put ahead of God’s Will. God’s Plan and Purpose for your life is NOT contingent upon someone else. It is contingent upon your response to each circumstance in your life, and the attitude of your heart.

His Thoughts and Ways Are

Not Our Thoughts and Ways

All of us are in a learning process so God’s patience is long. Sometimes it seems to us, too long. That is okay He is God, He knows what He is doing, each individual is different and He does things as He pleases, not as we think He should. God does all things for His Glory, His Purposes, and His Kingdom advancement. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9). Through the process as we, His children live in the center of His Will; we are blessed, happy, content, and prosperous. His Principles are set up to make this so.

Eat Of The Fruit Of The Spirit

We must not eat of the fruit from the tree of the past—old things are passed away. We must not eat of the fruit of the tree of the future either. “Therefore I say to you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?” (Matthew 6:25)  We cannot see the future and eating of this tree can cause confusion, worry, stress, and that robs us of our Peace. Above all, it takes our eyes off Jesus, our Lord, and Savior; the I AM, our “RIGHT NOW” God. I encourage you to eat of the fruit of the Spirit, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23) gentleness, self-control…" (Galatians 5:22 & 23).

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you…" because, He is, I AM—the “RIGHT NOW" God!

Be aware that all attributes of The Most High God are capitalized out of love, respect, and reverence for The Trinity. Also be aware that the name satan, related names, and attributes are capitalized. I choose not to acknowledge or exemplify him even to the point of going against grammatical rules.
