In this section, you will discover help and hope for the weary soul. If you recognize yourself, or anyone you love, in any of our brief introductions today, click on the title to read the full teaching. Our desire is that the unconditional love of our Father may be made known to you through these teachings, and you will enter into a place of emotional freedom and knowing our God in greater depth and intimacy. We often wonder why life is so difficult, why things hurt so badly. The traumas from the hurts we experience in life often leave us feeling vulnerable and defenseless. Hurts can affect our self-esteem, sense of worth, our confidence, and even our self-respect. Because of the different hurts we experience we may find ourselves battling with anger, bitterness, hatred and/or even jealousy, emotions to numerous to mention may stir up within us. Our goal is that each of you will somehow be touched by the truths from God's Word. That the teachings will contribute to your becoming the whole, unique wonderful person God created you to be.
The definition of abuse is to treat badly by mistreatment, violence, neglect, exploitation, molestation, battering, hurting and injury. Abuse can also be harsh and insulting language, name-calling, the use foul language, insults, condemnation, criticizism, and verbal attacks. You will never hear of anyone who verbally abuses or physically batters anybody, claim they do it because they love that person or persons, or because it is how they want to be treated themselves. How much abuse is enough? Does God expect His children to tolerate vicious belittlement and/or physical attacks? Do you in God's eyes have the freedom to remove yourself from the situation? Scripture does not deal specifically with the problem of abuse. Yet, the Gospels are full of examples of Jesus' compassion. Psalms 103:13-14 (ASV) "Like as a father pitieth his children, so Jehovah pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust." God is a loving Father, who does not want you to live in a spirit of confusion, not knowing what to do or say next. 1 Corinthians 14:33 (KJV) "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, "
1 Corinthians 7:15 (KJV) "God has called us to peace."
As you read this teaching on abuse, may it bring insight and hope into your life.
Do you remember growing up? What your hopes and your dreams were for your life? I am almost certain that those plans did not include loneliness. Loneliness preoccupies. Many feel God has let them down, or if God exists, He must be indifferent. The feeling of loneliness creates discouragement and may challenge your faith in the goodness of God. We were formed in the image of God, and God exists in personal relationships of love. We find our wholeness and our completion in being united with others. Our need to be loved, the need for love relationships is God given. Our prayer is, this teaching will help you or someone you know to be set free.
How do we handle the trials that come our way? It's the little things that indicate where we are. How do we react to our trials? What does that tell others about the character of God in us? If we let everything go, we don't feel like we care about anything. We have gone down during our trial and we have rendered ourselves useless. God has made provision through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, for us to walk and live as the first Adam did. Free from the power of sin and darkness in our lives, and experience the kingdom of His Son everyday for the rest of our lives. When we accepted this provision, repented of our sins and gave our lives to Him, we became His children. Through Him we can be overcomers in every trial. Turn to this teaching and examine the different ways that Moses and Elijah reacted to their trials. How can we learn from these two? Moses had been emptied of his own thoughts to make room for God's thoughts, and God had to get Elijah somewhere else for him to be able to refocus from his trial, lets look together at how these two men overcame their trial, and how to make those same principles applicable to our lives.
