Meeting Jesus Christ is often referred to as receiving Salvation. The word salvation means, redemption, deliverance, rescue, recovery, and escape. When you meet Jesus Christ and receive His Salvation means you believe all that God has done for you through His Son, Jesus Christ, on The Cross at Calvary. As The Perfect Sacrifice, on The Cross, your sins are forgiven, and you become Righteous through Him. “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21) God will no longer be just God to you, but He is now your Heavenly Father, and you can step boldly in His Presence anytime.
We were born into a world that suffers from abuse, pain, sickness, disease, poverty, sorrow — all the curses that are a result of a broken relationship with God because of Adam’s fall in the Garden of Eden.
God made Adam and gave him dominion over the earth. “Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 28) Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:26 & 28) However, Adam was disloyal and betrayed God. He bowed his knee to God’s enemy, satan. When Adam fell, he gave his God-given dominion over to satan. Nevertheless, God’s Love for humankind is so great that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Second Adam to Redeem all of humanity from sin and to Redeem this earth from satan’s dominion as well.
Why Do I Need Jesus?
We need Jesus because the wages of sin is death, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) However, Jesus Christ, The Son of God, was given to us as a gift, so that you and I may have a way to escape the punishment for our sins.
Our God Loves us, for He is Love, “… for God is love.” (1 John 4:8) He Loves us so much that He, Himself, provided a way for us to escape hell and receive everlasting life with Him. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
The God of Love sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to earth, born of a virgin, to be The Perfect Sacrifice for our sins on The Cross at Calvary. There, He bore the full weight of the punishment and wrath of God for all the sins of mankind. God also placed upon His Son, Jesus Christ, every sickness, and every disease, The totality of the curse was placed upon Him as He died in our place. Only Jesus Christ, The Perfect and Sinless Son of God, could fully satisfy The Righteous Demands of God’s Holiness as payment for our sins.
Consequently, it is only through believing in Jesus Christ and His Perfect Finished Work on The Cross at Calvary that we can be saved. We also receive the privilege of stepping boldly in The Presence of our Heavenly Father, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16) Through The Finished Work of Jesus Christ, we can expect abundant life here on earth, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) There is no other way to be saved apart from accepting what Jesus Christ has done for you on The Cross at Calvary. “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
How Do I Receive Salvation and Meet Jesus?
Salvation is a gift from God and comes through believing in Jesus Christ, His Son. Scripture makes it unmistakably clear that Jesus Christ is the only way to God and eternal life, “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” (John 14:6) The Word also tells us, “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10) For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11) For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” (Romans 10:9–11)
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Unconditional Love for me. Thank You for sending Your only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on The Cross at Calvary for me. Thank You for raising Jesus from the dead and that He is Alive and Living Forevermore. I believe that The Precious Blood of Jesus Christ washes me clean and removes all my sins. I choose to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I thank You that all my sins are now forgiven. I am now, The Righteousness of God in Him, I have been made Righteous by The Blood of Jesus Christ. From this moment forward, I will live under my Father’s Favor. I believe, Father, that Your Goodness and Mercy will follow me all the remaining days of my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen.”
Now What Happens?
Once you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, your relationship with God, and your position in God’s Kingdom changes — you are no longer a sinner, but a new creation in Christ “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17) “And you are now an heir of God, and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” (Romans 8:17)
Today, as Jesus is in Heaven, so are you in this world, “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” (1 John 4:17) God Loves you Unconditionally and Desires to Bless you. He is Forever on your side, “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) He has Declared that He will Never Leave you Nor Forsake you, “… He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)
It is essential for you to continue hearing about Jesus, His Love for you, and your new identity in Him. I encourage you to start attending services in a local church body and learn of all The Blessings that Jesus Christ Purchased on The Cross at Calvary for you to enjoy.
Become Part Of A Local Church Body
As I stated above, to help you in your journey as a believer, I encourage you to find and attend a local church.
The Master’s Touch Ministries believes that attending church is the heart of God for every believer, whether it is a long-time believer or a new convert. Scripture says, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25) It is essential for every believer to find, commit to, and grow in a community where they hear, are encouraged by, and learn through the preaching and teaching of The Holy Scriptures, God’s Word. In a local church, you will also receive the love, guidance, and support of fellow believers and church leaders.
Ask The Lord and then trust Him to lead you to a local church that will help you see, hear, and learn more about your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
