Prayer is more than the recitations of well-known phrases. Prayer is the outpouring of your heart. It is turning to God as your Source in your time of difficulties and hardships, believing that He Alone is able to Deliver you from all your problems and that He Alone is The Answer to your every question. Prayer is powerful communication with God.
Some of you may be troubled with questions like:
Why don't I feel better when I pray?
Why does my time with The Lord seem to wear me out?
How am I supposed to pray?
Why do I seldom see answers to my prayers?
Is there something wrong with me?
Am I not good enough for God to listen to?
Does God really Desire to answer my prayers?
“And even when you do ask, you don’t get because your whole motive is wrong. You want only what will give you pleasure.” (James 4:3 NLT)
So then, how can we know the prayers we pray will be effectual prayers? We can know this by praying His Word — God’s Word! As we search out The Scriptures, we will find they embrace every area of our lives, including:
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11) The Promise of The LORD is that His Word cannot return void. Therefore, it only makes sense for us to pray The Word of God, for His Word, is always His Will for our lives. “Bless the LORD, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, hearkening to the voice of his word!” (Psalms 103:20 RSV) As you pray God’s Word, you become the voice to which the angels hearken.
Using verses from The New King James and Amplified versions of The Bible as examples, let us explore how to take verses from Scripture and turn them into an effective prayer in the paragraph that follows each one.
I am trusting that The Word will energize you with a fresh supply of strength and power as it becomes active in your life and as you learn how to search The Word out to pray over your requests and the requests of others.

Psalms 91 the complete chapter
Lord, as I dwell in Your Secret Place, I will abide under Your Shadow. I will say of You, LORD, You are my Refuge and my Fortress; my God, in You I trust. You will Deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. You will Cover me with Your Feathers, and under Your Wings do I trust. Your Truth shall be my Shield and Buckler. I will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand shall fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, but it will not come near me.
Because I have made You my Refuge, even my Habitation, there will no evil befall me, neither shall any plague come near my home. You will give Your angels charge over me to keep me in all my ways. They shall bear me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone. I will tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the enemy will I trample under foot.
Because I have set my love upon You, therefore You will Deliver me. You will set me on high because I have known Your Name. I will call upon You, and You will Answer me. You will be with me in trouble; You will Deliver me and Honor me. With a long life will You satisfy me and show me Your Salvation. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Thank You, Father, Amen.
