What Is Divination?

Divination page

Divination is an imitation of The Divine. Some of the meanings of the word divination are: prediction, forecast, insight, foretelling, foresight, guess, calculation, or conjecture.

Scripture tells us of Saul went to a medium so he could divine information, "Then Saul said to his servants, “Find me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her.” And his servants said to him, “In fact, there is a woman who is a medium at En Dor. 8) So Saul disguised himself and put on other garments, and went, he and two men with him; and they came to the woman by night. And he said, “Divine for me by a spirit…” (1 Samuel 28:7 & 8)

Divination is the attempt to use The Gifts of The Holy Spirit without the approval of God. You cannot use The Gifts of The Holy Spirit without The Anointing of God. I once heard a man of God say, “The Anointing of God in your life is God's approval upon your life.” In some ways, I agree with Him. Many of us have seen The Anointing of God on what we thought was the life of a man or woman of God only to find out that they had been living in some sort of sin. So, what is happening there? I asked Father about this, and He said to me that The Anointing is upon His Word, not that person. Somehow, because this man or woman saw The Anointing flowing, he or she mistook this as God’s approval on his or her life. When His Word is being misused, there is no Anointing upon it. That person is operating out of his or her own flesh, out of rebellion, and/or the spirit of divination. We, you and I must always be aware and walk in discernment. We must always keep our eyes on Jesus Christ and not the man or woman.

Again, divination is an attempt to use The Gifts of The Holy Spirit without The Anointing of God. It is imitating Speaking In Tongues for Interpretation, imitating Prophecy, imitating The Word of Knowledge, imitating The Word of Wisdom, and imitating The Discerning of Spirits. This can happen to you or me any day of our lives. We must stay on guard and be aware of our own hearts.

There are many self-proclaimed prophets in the Body of Christ today who are, in reality, false prophets. They draw people to themselves instead of the heart of God. These false prophets feed our fleshly desires and make us feel good about ourselves instead of directing our hearts towards God and His Ways.

People often ask the question, “If God says it to me in a prophecy, doesn't that mean it will happen? I don't understand why things, to the contrary, seem to take place in my life. I'm confused.”

Any man or woman who prophesies out of their own heart and/or out of a familiar spirit, and/or the spirit of divination, or out of anything that is not the heart of God, has brought and/or is bringing defilement by divination. That was or is not a true prophecy. It was or is a prediction and is an impure impartation. That impure impartation can bring confusion and often much worse.

How God Feels About Divination

“I will also tear off your veils and deliver My people out of your hand, and they shall no longer be as prey in your hand. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.  22)  Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and you have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life. 23) Therefore you shall no longer envision futility nor practice divination; for I will deliver My people out of your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD.”  (Ezekiel 13:21-23)

I caution you about parking-lot prophecies, back-pew prophecies, a person who desires to give you a “word” without a witness being there, or it has to be “right now it cannot wait.”  BEWARE of that individual. Chances are, they are not prophesying to you out of the heart of God. This kind of prophecy will only impart defilement into your life; God cannot and will not bless it.

How To Break Free Free

You can break free through The Blood of Jesus and The Power of The Holy Spirit, from the defiling words that have been spoken to you. Renounced confusion, defilement, dirtiness, and desperation. Proclaim yourself to be The Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Then wait on The Holy Spirit to see if there is more that needs to be broken.

Then, pled The Blood of Jesus over your mind, your emotions, and your body. Then declared The Cross triumphant in your life. And then wait on The Holy Spirit to see if there was more to declare.

Then Worship and Exalt The Lord of lords and The King of kings. Then wait on The Holy Spirit and soak in His Presence and His Peace.

As you humble yourself and wait on The Holy Spirit, You will receive The Anointing to break the yoke.

As you encounter with The Holy Spirit. He will renew and restore you according to His Word. Because as the child of God, you, are The Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, your mind will be renewed, and a right spirit surged up within you, “…And renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10) And He will restore unto you The Joy of your Salvation, “Restore to me the joy of Your salvation...” (Psalm 51:12)

Wait on The Holy Spirit to see if there is more. Waiting on Him is KEY.

Only through The Blood of Jesus and The Power of The Holy Spirit, are the defiling words that had been spoken over your life, broken, to set free. Then, while waiting on The Holy Spirit, and being obedient to His leading, be totally restored, renewed, and set free from the defilement of this impure impartation.

Always Ask

When someone approaches you, you must ask Father if it is okay for that person to speak into your life. If He says, “Yes,” then go ahead and receive what The Father has for you. But, if He says “No,” then you must be courageous enough to say to that person something to this effect, “I must ask you to refrain from speaking these things over me. The Holy Spirit has placed a check in my heart, and I must be obedient to Him.” You cannot worry about what that person’s response to you will be, what they may think or say. You must keep your heart and focus on Jesus and be obedient to Him at all times, whatever the cost. The cost is higher if you don’t.

John Bevere said in his book, ‘Thus Saith The Lord? How to know when God is speaking to you through another’ (a must-read for every believer), “Prophecy should direct our hearts toward God and His ways, not feed our fleshly desires and make us feel good.”

“For the time is coming when <people> will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching <for something pleasing and gratifying>, they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold, 4)  And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man-made fictions.” (2 Timothy 4:3 & 4 AMP)

The dictionary defines defilement as: corruption, ruination, dishonor, impurity, violation, devastation, rape, pollution, a spot, or blemish.

We know that Jesus Christ is coming back for a Bride that is without spot or blemish. We also know satan’s main goal is to try to keep the Church as spotted and blemished as he possibly can. One of the ways he is doing this is through liars and false prophets in the Body of Christ.

People with good intentions will defile you by divination through imitating The Anointing, by an impure impartation through the laying on of hands, or speaking false words over you. “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” (Matthew 10:16)

Be aware that all attributes of The Most High God are capitalized out of love, respect, and reverence for The Trinity. Also be aware that the name satan, related names, and attributes are capitalized. I choose not to acknowledge or exemplify him even to the point of going against grammatical rules.
